Where the record lives, how to log in at the lab table, and what to do the first time.
The Donor Medical Record is an electronic health record called OpenEMR, with an imaging archive behind it. You sign in the way a clinician would, and everything you write is attributed to you.
At the lab table
Every table’s iPad is bookmarked to that table’s donor. Open the bookmark, sign in, and it loads the right chart and the right scan. You should not have to search for your donor at the table.
If the iPad opens someone else’s donor, you are at the wrong table, or the bookmark is wrong. Tell a teaching assistant rather than working around it.
On your own laptop
Sign in with the link and credentials handed out in the course site. After signing in you land on the Patient Finder, which lists the donor cohort. Finding your donor there is the next page.
The first time
- You will be asked to change your password immediately. The initial password is shared and expires on first use.
- Sessions time out after a period of inactivity. Signing back in is normal; it is not a sign anything broke.
- Do not share your login. Every finding carries its author, and a finding signed by the wrong person is worse than an unsigned one.
